All month long, WLRN and our partners at O, Miami Poetry Festival have been collecting poems either starting or ending in "That's So Miami" and compiling them on our Tumblr page. We have seen some amazing poems, and as the month begins to wind down, we decided to put the best theme poems up for a vote.
A universal favorite among Miamians: traffic.
UPDATE: POLLS CLOSED AFTERNOON OF 4/25, WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED AT THAT'S SO MIAMI READING AND FINALE
We are also taking votes for the Best of "Miami, I Love to Hate You;" Best of "Ode to Miami Food;" Best of "Spanglish Poetry;" and Best of "Traffic Ballad." All the winners will be announced at our That's So Miami Contest Reading this Sunday, April 28 at 4:30 p.m. at the Betsy Hotel. Winners will also be invited to share the stage with poet Richard Blanco, who appeared at this year's U.S. presidential inauguration to read their poems on Sunday during the O, Miami Finale at the New World Center at 7:00 p.m.
Remember, the winner of the Best of "Ode to Miami" category will receive a prize: a three-day, two night "Staycation," courtesy of the Betsy Hotel in South Beach and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Below are the top five Best of "Traffic Ballads." Be sure to vote in the poll (Poll Daddy) at the bottom of the page!
