Florida voters have a chance to evaluate the Democratic candidates for governor tonight during a debate in Miramar.

All but one, that is.

Billionaire real estate investor and candidate Jeff Greene said there's a reason he won't be there.

"I wasn't invited," Greene said, laughing.

Greene entered the race for governor on June 4, too late to be included in tonight's debate. So, he'll watch this one from his home in Palm Beach with his wife and three sons.

"I'm an older dad," Greene said. "I'm 63-years-old. When you have kids it just changes your perspective."

It changed his perspective on how kids are learning. Greene started his own school in West Palm Beach in 2016.

He says he'll be the governor to fix education and create a 21st century economy in Florida.

"There's no excuse for us not having anything but the best education system in the country, the best environment, the cleanest beaches, the best and most affordable health care," said Greene. "I'm going to make that happen for the people of Florida."

The four Democratic candidates taking part in the debate are Andrew Gillum, the mayor of Tallahassee; Gwen Graham, a former congresswoman; Chris King, a Winter Park businessman; and Philip Levine, the former mayor of Miami Beach.
