7pm THE BRAIN WITH DAVID EAGLEMAN Education/Science - What is it really?
Dr. David Eagleman takes viewers on an extraordinary journey in "What is Reality?" He explores how the brain, locked in silence and darkness without direct access to the world, conjures up the rich and beautiful world we all take for granted.
Dr David Eagleman's introduction to the workings of the brain is mind-blowing. Reality is not as we know it, according to him. In the first of a six-part series, he reveals that 'reality' is simply how our brain perceives the outside world. We meet Mike May, who lost his sight at the age of three. When it was restored some 40 years later, Mike's eyes worked perfectly – but because his brain was not used to processing visual information, his sight was skewed. "Vision is a whole body experience", explains David. "All of our senses depend on each other."
