Update July 17, 2013 @ 1:00 p.m.: Mike Dee, CEO of the Miami Dolphins since 2009, is leaving to become president and CEO of pro baseball's San Diego Padres. We are rerunning this post from earlier this year amid the debate about the failed effort to win funding for renovations to Sun Life Stadium.
The Miami Dolphins are one step closer to approval of a private-public partnership to renovate Sun Life Stadium after the Florida Senate passed a bill to legitimize a Miami-Dade referendum currently underway.
Debate about the renovations has produced dozens maybe hundreds of hours of audio and video: Dolphins' press conferences, Miami-Dade County commission meetings, Florida Senate committee hearings, etc.
The vast majority of those recordings have been (...how to put this delicately?) -- boring.
WLRN's Remix the News Challenge asked our audience to take that audio and make it more palatable.
Gabe Grabin, a radio producer in Maine, took special note of Dolphins CEO Mike Dee -- the guy tasked with selling the renovations during all those press conferences, commission meetings and legislative committee hearings.
Grabin writes, "The man's name is Mike Dee. How could I not do a Beastie Boys remix?"
