POLICE PROTESTS

South Florida demonstrators marched against police-related violence last weekend. More protests are planned after a street artist died running from policeand getting hit by an unmarked Miami squad car. 

NEW CHIEFS

Florida’s prison system gets new boss Julie Jones, the first woman to head the Department of Corrections. While she doesn’t have previous experience with prisons, she has served in a variety of roles in law enforcement. What does she have to do to clean up the corrections department? And after several months as interim secretary, Mike Carroll is officially named secretary of the Department of Children and Families.

PRIVATE EMAILS

A Florida judge ruled a Tallahassee lawyer can change anexisting lawsuit against Gov. Scott asking for public records-- a change that can include emails from Scott's private Gmail account. The governor and his attorneys had claimed the records did not exist.
