As Miami-Dade County continues to combat the Zika virus, Florida health officials confirmed this week the first case of locally acquired Dengue fever in the county. We take a look at how these infections, both caused by the Aedes egypti mosquito, have impacted the community.

Also, we look back on the brief and triumphant life of Miami Marlins pitcher José Fernández. It has been a difficult reality for so many people in South Florida to accept his death because Fernández was more than a celebrity athlete. Plus, earlier this week the Department of Homeland Security announced that it would again begin to deport non-criminal Haitians citing improved conditions to the nation. But are there?
