Warm weather, bad traffic, store-bought tits, the beach, diversity, rudeness and the women.

Miami in a nutshell according to the people we talked at our VoxPop recording booth during RadioFest at the Wolfsonian on Miami Beach.

It was Spring Break, parking was bad, music was bumping and people were more than willing to spout off the things they love and hate about Miami. (Especially when we were plying them with free coffee in exchange for the conversation.)

RadioFest At The Wolfsonian-FIU

Feb 27, 2017

DATE: Saturday, March 11, 2017. 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

LOCATION: Wolfsonian-FIU, 1001 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

Celebrate over 100 years of the technology at the core of communication and connection in the modern world.

The Wolfsonian partnered with WLRN Public Media and The New Tropic to bring you a full day of radio-inspired fun and learning including live talks, workshops, performances, and interactives.

What better way to celebrate National Radio Day than with our loyal listeners? The WLRN team set up to have four meals in the four counties that we serve. So on Saturday. August 20th we had breakfast in Palm Beach, lunch in Broward, dinner in Miami-Dade and finished the day with desserts at our southernmost bureau in Key West.

Our "Moveable Feast" started at Howley's in Palm Beach, where our team got to have coffee and pancakes with the first group of loyal listeners (definitely morning folks, since we met at 8:30 am).

Joy, surprise, disappointment, hope, and the many shades of emotion in between were expressed center stage during a night of conversation and storytelling about immigration on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Michel Martin, former host of NPR’s “Tell Me More,” hosted the show "Long Way Home: Immigrant Stories of Old Roots and New Routes" in collaboration with WLRN. The production is part of a series of live events Martin has been hosting across the country.

To launch our new investigative blog, What's the Story?, the WLRN-Miami Herald News team took over Fort Lauderdale's Riverside Market on Tuesday, April 22.

What's the Story is a reporting project in which we let your curiosity guide our investigations. You ask us a question, and we try to answer it. So tell us: What have you always wondered about South Florida?
