Pam Bondi Blames Gov. Scott's Staff in FDLE Case

Jan 29, 2015

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Wednesday she believes Gov. Rick Scott's staff acted without his knowledge in the way former Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Gerald Bailey was pushed out last month.

Governor Rick Scott spoke to reporters with a caged Florida panther present Tuesday at Gator Park in Miami. He announced that $150 million will go toward Everglades restoration this year and $5 billion throughout the next 20 years. Part of the plan he announced funds projects to protect panthers-- 2014 was a bad year for panther deaths. The other part is to move, clean and store Florida’s water supply.

Watchdog groups want an outside investigation into the apparent ousting of well respected Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Gerald Bailey, and now a private citizen is asking the FBI to investigate claims that Gov. Rick Scott tried to meddle in the affairs of the state’s top law enforcement agency.

Scott For Florida

Gov. Rick Scott’s inauguration is less than a month away. Scott is only the second Republican governor in Florida history to win reelection. Jeb Bush was the first.

Scott told reporters at the Capitol this week he'll focus on education and tax cuts, as well as growing jobs during his second term.

4 More Years: Which Scott will Florida See?

Nov 6, 2014

Florida's election left two questions: Which Rick Scott will govern over the next four years and who can Democrats turn to in a statewide election after failing with a former Republican?

One of the scientists who spoke with Governor Rick Scott about climate change watched election results from the party for losing candidate Charlie Crist.

Eckerd College marine science professor David Hastings said when he and four other scientists met with Scott in August, the governor didn’t react much to his concerns about rising sea levels. But Scott told him he was open to fixing some of the problems.

Gov. Rick Scott won Tuesday's elections with a slim margin over former Gov. Charlie Crist, who was briefly rumored to call for a recount.

Considering Florida's elections history, the governor's race was over relatively early, results well settled by midnight. But not before some initial suspense.

The race between Florida Gov. Rick Scott and his Democratic challenger, Charlie Crist, remains essentially tied as the campaign enters its final day.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Monday showed Crist had 42 percent of the vote to Scott's 41 percent. Libertarian Adrian Wyllie had 7 percent with 9 percent undecided.

A Quinnipiac poll last week showed Crist with a 43-40 lead.

The finger-pointing and mudslinging almost is over. There is an end to the negative ads. Floridians will choose their next governor and it's safe to say that man already has served as governor. And he has served as a Republican.

It’s down to the final days of the 2014 campaign.

Governor Rick Scott and former Governor Charlie Crist make last minute pitches as more than one million Floridians already have voted.

But this is Florida. And this is an extremely tight race for governor. What will happen if there’s a recount?
