Attorney General Pam Bondi Releases Holiday Shopping Guide

Although Black Friday is nearing its final hours, Cyber Monday is around the corner. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is giving consumers her own version of a holiday shopping guide.

The online guide is 114 pages long and includes tips on making online purchases and how to avoid charity scams.  

Bondi says she wants help consumers have a "safe and enjoyable shopping experience."

Our Shopping Obsession Causes Teenagers' Materialism

As long as I can remember, and even before I was born, the angst of the stereotypical teenager -- the James Dean-like rebels without a cause, the "Breakfast Club" members, the mischievous, too-cool-for-rules Zack Morris from "Saved by the Bell" – has been king.

And with good reason.

Teenagers are moody.  They are self-centered -- bordering on narcissistic.  And a study published this summer claims today’s teenagers are also more materialistic than any generation before them.

How Much Is That Puppy In The Shelter Window? Name Your Price This Friday

You can get a good deal on a lot of items this Black Friday, including a new pet.

Broward County’s animal shelter is letting potential adopters name their own price on a dog or cat between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday.

According to Lisa Mendheim, who is the public education coordinator for the shelter, you really can name any price—even a penny.

“We’ll take it,” Mendheim said with a laugh. “We usually have people a little more generous than that. We’ve had people give hundreds of dollars for a pet and then others give what they can.”

It's Crazy Out There!

South Florida shoppers wiped the turkey gravy off their lips and got in line to shop last night as Black Friday morphed backward into Thursday to kick off an ever-earlier Christmas shopping season.

Lines for the early deals began forming before sundown on Thanksgiving and the scenes at the big boxes and malls grew more hectic and even chaotic overnight.
