Credit Library of Congress

Prohibition - A Nation of Hypocrites (8 pm)

This compelling series tells the story of Prohibition, America's "Great Experiment", and raises questions on individual rights and responsibilities which are just as relevant now as they were then.

In "A NATION OF HYPOCRITES" support for Prohibition diminishes in the mid-1920s and the playfulness of sneaking around for a drink gives way to disenchantment with its glaring unintended consequences. Once the Great Depression sets in, Americans begin to re-examine their priorities. By December of 1933, Prohibition's reign finally comes to an end under President Franklin D Roosevelt, and for the first time in thirteen years, Americans can legally buy a drink.

Final Rehearsal before the Big Day

Final Rehearsal in Sheraton Ballroom, NYC

This is it! The last "official" rehearsal inside the Sheraton Ballroom before the big day.  Yes, I said inside because outside it's been raining, cold and I could swear I saw a snow flurry or two.  That could be me though, a typical Floridian looking for the excitement that snow brings.  Momentarily of course!

There will be one more rehearsal  at 3 am the day of the parade for the NBC crew.  The students have a whopping 10 minute time slot to perform their "American Reunion" themed piece for the cameras.
