Workshops
Ready To Learn is an early childhood education program that
provides parents, teachers and childcare providers, both in
agencies and at home, with the training and resources they
need to help children in their care acquire basic learning
skills and be ready to learn when they enter school. Instead
of considering TV an enemy of reading, WLRN Ready To Learn
uses educational programs as a tool to help children acquire
a love of books, reading and learning. Parents, teachers and
childcare providers learn how to take control of television
programs and use them to the best advantage for children.
Free support materials and books are provided for each participant
at every workshop. Twenty-Five (25) free books are donated
to each site that hosts a workshop with at least 12 in attendance.
