A Want Ad For Murder

Vera

9pm VERA: Muddy Waters - Crime/Drama

When the remains of a teenage girl are found half-buried in a Northumberland wood, Vera and the team find themselves investigating a 30-year-old mystery. The remains are identified as those of miner's daughter Carrie Telling, who vanished during the strike clashes in 1984. A politically minded, rebellious teen, her father Bill insisted Carrie would never run away but his protests fell on deaf ears. The case brings Vera back in contact with her old boss, John Warrick, who is shocked to learn he may have dropped the ball.

10:30pm SCOTT & BAILEY: Matter of Rank - Crime/Drama

Scott & Bailey

The team investigates the murder of Lola Lake, who was found in a hotel known to be frequented by prostitutes. They soon learn that she was there to meet a man who contacted her via a personal-ad website, but he wasn’t who he said he was.  When an earlier victim comes around to make a statement, Rachel pieces together the clues and a prime suspect is identified. Janet later witnesses the suspect's confession as he is brought into custody. A drunken Gill reveals to Rachel that she was second choice for sergeant.
