Topical Currents

An Unexpected History of Carnivore America

01/07/14 - Tuesday's Topical Currents is with historian and author Maureen Ogle who’s documented the long history of the livestock and meat debate.  It dates back to Colonial times.  In her book, IN MEAT WE TRUST, Ogle doesn’t take sides . . . but explains how meat winds up on plates.  The factory-farm system first evolved because a labor shortage . . . few people wanted to work on farms.  And chicken wasn’t all that popular until World War II.  That’s Topical Currents... Tuesday at 1pm on WLRN.
