Two weeks ago, we asked you to co-author a story with Junot Diaz.
Last week, we asked you to remix that story with submissions that may or may not have made the final narrative.
This week, we have a winner.
WLRN is proud to announce Daniel Toy as the winner of the WLRN Tweet Me a Remix. You can see his winning submission below, which he believes took him about an hour and a half to two hours to complete.
A full-time Public Relations professional and graduate of the Pratt Institute, Toy cites Junot Diaz as one of his favorite authors. (Might we point out that he’s quite the author himself, and his work goes beyond the basic copying and pasting skills he showed in the contest.)
The Brooklyn resident has never set foot in South Florida, but navigated Google promisingly, stating that rearranging the content submitted for the contest “was writing about a place I wasn’t familiar with… I looked it up on Google to get an idea of where it was.”
You can read Daniel’s work on his website, or follow him on Twitter (@dw_toy).
