Despite Governor Rick Scott telling Floridians to "evacuate, evacuate, evacuate" before Hurricane Matthew was expected to hit, not all who live in evacuation zones heeded his warnings.
One such South Florida resident was Robert Matthew Van Winkle, also known as rapper Vanilla Ice.
Ice, who's responsible for the 90's anthem "Ice, Ice, Baby" has had a rough week.
Tuesday evening he was booted off the television dancing competition Dancing With The Stars.
Shortly after, he tweeted to his followers thanking them for their support. But the struggles didn't end there, nor did the tweets.
I just flew into Palm Beach to batten down the hatches, The hurricane is coming. From one extreme to another. #Hurricane

After his elimination, Ice flew from Los Angeles to his home in Palm Beach; only to be greeted by Hurricane Matthew.

Like many South Floridians, the first thing affected by the hurricane was his weekend plans.
The @ILoveThe90sTour in Augusta Ga. date has been moved due to the hurricane. Everybody needs to prepare, This could be a tuff one.

But the forecasts, warnings and cancelations didn't scare him away.
This hurricane is serious and coming right at me. I'm going to ride out the storm. I'll keep you updated pic.twitter.com/LQGzAFY9O8

Yep, he decided to ride out the storm. And he planned to keep us updated. Which he did.
Right now things are pretty calm, but you know what that means, the calm before the storm. The entire Florida Georgia and Carolina Coast
— Vanilla Ice (@vanillaice) October 6, 2016
Based on his tweets, Ice's home is in one of Palm Beach County's designated mandatory evacuation zones.
Riders on the storm. I am right on the ocean in Palm Beach looking at evil darkness sky coming with the hurricane

He gave a first-hand account of what it was like on the coast during the storm.
#HurricaneMatthew is pounding Palm Beach right now. Flooding and debris flying everywhere
— Vanilla Ice (@vanillaice) October 7, 2016
His tweets got the attention of fellow 90's phenom, Donnie Wahlberg, who chimed in with his concerns.
Dear @vanillaice - I stayed home during #hurricanesandy and it was a bummer. Be careful during #HurricaneMatthew! Be smart & be safe bro! ❤️ pic.twitter.com/wrs3bIx49F

Luckily Palm Beach wasn't as severely impacted as original forecasts predicted.
It looks like a mess with debris and some flooding here but overall Palm Beach handled it very well. #HurricaneMatthew
— Vanilla Ice (@vanillaice) October 7, 2016
Hopefully Vanilla Ice avoids putting himself in harms way throughout future storms, but we're glad he made it through this one unscathed.
The water level and flooding was the scariest part of #HurricaneMatthew higher than I have ever seen. pic.twitter.com/ENjjznD9DL
