The Sauce Boss

THE BOSS IS IN THE HOSS!

IRV’S BBQ SAUCE

Janet & Norman Van Aken, © Copyright 2014

Ketchup based barbeque sauces are the most prevalent ones going I guess. But this one stands the
test of time like no other either me, my family OR all of our friends have had in the past three
generations! It was created by my Father-in-Law Irv Amsler. He slathered countless ribs (as well
as burgers) with it. We have continued in this tradition as much out of flavor as family devotion. It
is easy. Now what is crazy about that!?

24 ounces of Heinz ketchup
1 Tablespoon chile powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoons allspice, toasted & ground
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds, toasted & ground
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, toasted a & ground
Worcestershire sauce, to taste
Tabasco, to taste
8 ounces beer

In a large bowl whisk the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco.
Then the chili powder, garlic powder, allspice, cumin and pepper until incorporated.
Whisk in the beer.
