8pm HISTORY DETECTIVESDocumentary – Exploring the stories behind artifacts and historical curiosities.

A propeller that may be from a WWII-era drone; an inscribed, wooden club that may have been given to Teddy Roosevelt; a letter that may be from Clara Barton in which she expresses concern about a soldier.

9pm WE’LL MEET AGAINDocumentary - Join Ann Curry for dramatic reunions of people whose lives crossed at pivotal moments. View history through their eyes and hear stories of heroism, hope and the forging of unbreakable bonds.
 

 

LOST CHILDREN OF VIETNAM A reunion of people separated in the aftermath of the Vietnam war. Tina, born in Vietnam, searches for her American father, while Nam hopes to find the ‘Texas Cowboy’ who inspired him as a young boy to come to America. The war in Vietnam raged for nearly two decades but the aftermath was just as devastating. When the US pulled out, millions of people’s lives were again turned upside down. Not least two small children, oblivious of the upheaval they were about to face.

 

Mia Laurenzo is a 35-year veteran of public television in Miami. She began her career learning every aspect of video production. Currently she is a writer, producer, on-air host and promotions coordinator for TV, radio and the web.  Her experiences include producing for a series, special events and historical documentaries.  As a native Floridian, she is a perfect fit for South Florida's Storyteller Station, WLRN.  She has produced several award winning, nationally distributed documentaries and is the recipient of three Suncoast Regional Emmys.
