A Photo Of Wasserman Schultz Being Absent

"Representative Wasserman Schultz is present. Representative Schultz has always been present. Representative Wasserman Schultz is present. Representative Wass--"

Sorry. I was just brushing up on 1984-style Newspeak so that I may continue my work here at the Ministry of Truth.

A little Orwellian doublethink is necessary, evidently, as we consider what is clearly a photo of Debbie Wasserman Schultz at an event  she clearly did not attend.

Apparently, Wasserman Schultz and three other female members of her caucus were late for a group photo of the Democratic women of the House -- so late that the picture was taken without them.

But when they finally did arrive, the photographer was still present. He photographed them separately and then, to use a word you won't find in 1984, but should, Photoshopped them into the original photo.

The top photo was released by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's office. The other is from the photographer's camera.

South Florida freshman Congresswoman Lois Frankel is also in the photo and you can see her in the second row.  Congresswoman Frankel actually attended the shoot.
