Midsomer Murder - New Season!

9pm Wednesday - MIDSOMER MURDERS Crime/Drama

Midsomer Murders, one of the longest-running British detective series, returns to WLRN, with more murders and mysteries in its eleventh series.  Catch up with DCI Barnaby and Company May 11th in the premiere episode, BLOOD WEDDING, where Barnaby is torn between work and family when the maid of honor at a high-society wedding is murdered just days before his own daughter's nuptials.

Here's dialog from the show...

DCI Tom Barnaby: I want you to do it.

DS Ben Jones: What?

DCI Tom Barnaby: Be best man.

DS Ben Jones: But before I toast the bridesmaids, I'd like to arrest the bride and groom.

DCI Tom Barnaby: If that's what it takes.

This new season promises to bring you more gripping murders with enough plot twists and clues to satisfy the best "who done it" fans.  In fact, the town of Midsomer seems to attract more murderers than any other place, real or imagined and John Nettles agrees...   We worked it out that if the murder rate in real life was the same as it was in the program, there’d be nobody left but Barnaby and his immediate family.  John Nettles, A Conversation with John Nettles (Season 7, DVD bonus)

Don't miss the season premiere, May 11th at 9pm on WLRN-TV.

ABOUT THE SERIES: Set in the deceptively idyllic fictional English county of Midsomer, the suspenseful drama MIDSOMER MURDERS is based on the popular novels of Caroline Graham. Featuring an eccentric cast of characters, ubiquitous red herrings, and quaint countryside scenery, this long-running crime series recalls classic public television British mysteries of the past. At the heart of the show is the perceptive and meticulous criminal investigator Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (John Nettles).

Mia Laurenzo is a 35-year veteran of public television in Miami. She began her career learning every aspect of video production.
