Starting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, WLRN brings you Inspector George Gently – an incorruptible, uncompromising detective transplanted from London’s Scotland Yard to England’s North Country, then stay for Scott & Bailey and Dalziel & Pascoe.
Inspector George Gently: Blue for Bluebird (8:00 pm)
In this second episode, the body of a young woman washed up on the beach turns the attentions of Gently and Bacchus to the nearby holiday camp where she worked. The once-thriving business is clearly in financial trouble, and the detectives discover the lengths to which some are prepared to go to keep the camp afloat.
Scott & Bailey (9:30 pm)
Troubled saleswoman Helen, whose mother was murdered back in episode one, turns up on Janet's doorstep with information that takes the investigation in a completely different direction - paving the way for the formidable Det. Supt Julie Dodson to be called in. Meanwhile, new recruit Sgt. Rob Waddington arrives on the scene - putting Janet's nose out of joint as she is demoted back down to constable.
Dalziel and Pascoe - Under World, Part 1 (10:30 pm)
The discovery of a man’s body in a deserted mine shaft throws a Yorkshire mining community into turmoil as it is forced to re-live some dark events from the past. Dalziel and Pascoe arrive to investigate and they unearth a history of deceit, revenge and murder, which began with the unresolved murder of a young girl in the village, years before.
