The Funkiest Monkeys on WLRN-TV

In the rainforests of Indonesia, there are unusual looking monkeys that sport punk hairstyles and copper-colored eyes.  They are called the crested black macaque.  Wildlife cameraman and biologist Colin Stafford-Johnson travels to the island of Sulawesi to find out why the population of these funky monkeys have dropped nearly 90 percent and what he can do to help.

My Wild Affair - The Ape Who Went To College (9:00 pm)

Chantek at Zoo Atlanta

This is the incredible story of Chantek, the orangutan raised as a human child on an American university campus during the 70s and 80s. Taught to speak in sign language, he is now living among his own kind at Zoo Atlanta, although he describes himself as an “orangutan person.”
