Florida’s spiny lobster season will close next Saturday.
With the spiny lobster recreational and commercial season coming to a close April 1, harvesters will no longer be able to catch the crustaceans in state and federal waters for the next four months.
There will be a two-day recreational sport season in July.
Then, the spiny lobster season will officially reopen August 6 th.
According to the Florida Department of Agriculture, spiny lobster is one of the top species caught and brought to shore.
