U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Vice President Joe Biden, both Democrats, talk about the Iranian nuclear deal at the David Posnack Jewish Community Center in Davie.

Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz recently announced that she will back President Obama’s Iran nuclear arms deal.

The deal would lift the sanctions on Iran and, in return, international inspections would keep tabs on Iran’s nuclear sites.

“It’s rather absurd that there’s [objection] to the deal. This will enable us to bring peace globally and since Israel is on this planet, it would benefit them not to have war.” -Jessica (Coral Springs)

Wasserman Schultz (D-Weston) had remained quiet on the issue, but promised she would make a decision with her “Jewish heart.”

When she came out in support of the deal, she said she had combed through all the information regarding the deal.

“Wasserman is very brave and correct. Would you rather have an agreement and be able to enforce it and put off nuclear weapons ten years or have them have nuclear weapons today?” -Harvey (Key West)

“At the end of the day, I thought, ‘I’m balanced.’ I went through it all: the criticism and the support from all the proponents,” said Wasserman Schultz on WLRN’s The Florida Roundup. “All the facts came down to supporting the agreement.”

“[Wasserman Schultz] is helping finance the Iranian regime and terrorism all around the world. There’s going to be terrorism everywhere.” -Judah (Boca Raton)

Wasserman Schultz is the first Jewish woman elected to Congress from Florida.
