Donald Trump Calls Obama 'Founder of ISIS' at Rally in Broward, But Focuses on Economy

Donald Trump was in South Florida again yesterday night. The Republican presidential nominee held a rally at the BB&T Center in Broward County where he focused on immigration, the economy, and national security. Trump criticized Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and made accusations about the President’s connections to terrorism.

“ISIS is honoring President Obama,” he said. “He is the founder of ISIS. He’s the founder of ISIS ok?”

Trump voiced his opinions on the media. “I would actually say that the media is almost as crooked as crooked Hillary Clinton,” he said. Some in the crowd responded with chants of “Lock them up,” referring to journalists.

The candidate also spoke about local Florida issues and praised Governor Rick Scott, calling Florida his second home.

People at the rally said economic growth is the main reason they support the Republican presidential nominee. “People care mostly about their job and their money, so I mean any time that you’re talking about how you’re going to change the economy, people are going to be listening closest,” said Greg Bromley from Fort Lauderdale and owner of a small business.

Other Trump supporters like Joe Rosario, who lives in Miami Beach, were impressed by the candidate’s rejection of the county’s political elite.

Rosario said the Republican Party of Trump speaks to all Americans. “I’m a Republican, I’m mad at the party,” he said. “But Donald Trump resonates to the working man, and women. And to everybody. We’re Republican Party, we’re straight, we’re gay, we’re Puerto Rican, we’re Mexican, we’re everybody. We’re Muslim, we’re whatever, we’re Christian, we’re everybody.”

Several groups of protesters were escorted out during the rally, and on one occasion, people in the audience threw drinks at the protesters.

Trump will be speaking again Thursday morning in Miami Beach at a Board meeting of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
