05/16/ 16 - Monday’s Topical Currents is with historian Pamela Haag, whose latest work is THE GUNNING OF AMERICA: Business & the Making of Gun Culture in America.

She addresses the common belief that firearms have a special bond with Americans, which stems from the Revolutionary War and the Constitution.

Instead, she says this romance with guns was marketed to Americans in the 19^th and 20^th Centuries . . . just as were plows, refrigerators and autos.
