9pm BALL OF CONFUSION: The 1968 Election - History/Culture Documentary
The presidential election of 1968 is recalled. It was a tumultuous year and very tight election; Richard Nixon won with just 43.4 percent of the vote, defeating Vice President Hubert Humphrey and former Alabama governor George Wallace. President Lyndon B. Johnson bowed out of the contest early on due to his dwindling popularity as a result of the Vietnam War; Martin Luther King Jr. and Bobby Kennedy were both assassinated; and the Democratic National Convention in Chicago erupted into violence.
