04/09/13 - Tuesday's Topical Currents begins with Paul Shapiro of the Humane Society of the United States.  The society urges a reduction or elimination of meat-based diets, for both health and ethical reasons.  Many school districts add more fruits and veggies in lunchroom fare, and offer “Meatless Mondays.”  Miami-Dade & Broward schools are participants.

04/02/13 - Tuesday's Topical Currents is with sportswriter Ethan Skolnik and psychologist Dr. Andrea Corn.  They’ve co-written RAISING YOUR GAME:  Over 100 Accomplished Athletes Help You Guide Girls and Boys Through Sports.  Sports are enriching enjoyable for kids . . . usually.  If not addressed in the right manner they can be a source of pressure, self-doubt and dejection.

03/28/13 - 1:30pm - Syndicated food columnist Linda Gassenheimer, Special wine correspondent Fred Tasker and WLRN hosts Joseph Cooper and Bonnie Berman interview  Shari Gherman, founder of the American Fine Wine Competition and Chef Christina Machammer, from B Cellars Napa Valley Blends and winner of the 4th season of Hell’s Kitchen.  Shari talks about the best American wines and Christina shares her thoughts on pairing food and wine.
