Celeste Fraser Delgado is an associate professor of English and Humanities at Barry University, and a long-time chronicler of the arts in South Florida. For more than a dozen years, she had covered performance and visual arts for WLRN, the Miami Herald, the Miami New Times, the Sun Post, and artburstmiami.com. She is an awarding winning arts critic, and a former NEA fellow in theater and dance criticism. She is the editor of the cultural studies collection, Everynight Life: Culture and Dance in Latin/o America (Duke University Press) and is currently completing a book on Carnival Arts, the community arts learning program she has directed for the past six years, called We Never Asked for Carnival: Celebrating Life at a Time of Crisis (forthcoming, Caribbean Studies Press).
