WLRN is making it happen

WLRN launched the American Graduate: Let's make it happen! initiative at a community forum held January 10th, 2012 in Miami, Florida.

Moderated by Marcus A. Christian, WLRN Community Advisory Member, the forum showcased the American Graduate video and a keynote message about graduation rates from Miami-Dade County Superintendent of Schools, Alberto M. Carvalho.

More than 100 community and education stakeholders participated in the forum, which served as a platform to generate conversations and networks about education resources and organizations addressing dropout rates.

On-air and Online Content

Public media's trusted producers are creating programs and specials that will raise awareness and increase dialogue about the dropout crisis.

In addition, some public radio and television programs will support teachers by developing educational resources to better engaged their students in learning.
